‘How to win friends and influence people’ by Dale Carnegie

Book review

Useful rating: 9/10

Entertaining: 7/10

Interesting read: 8.5/10

The 20 second review of this book: This is a how-to book in regard to dealing with the most aggressive, emotional, hypocritical, imperfect and difficult species on the planet: human beings. This book is worth every cent as I, without a doubt, know that it will improve both your social skills and business skills. I could not recommend this ‘over 16 million copies sold’ classic any more, as it has improved my happiness, business skills and social skills and if you are questing for the same results, I highly suggest a read.

Full review: I can quite honestly say that ‘How to win friends and influence people’ by Dale Carnegie is more than just a book, it is a tool that every modern individual should read. Books like this are what should be added to school curriculum’s rather than providing students with the ability to name all 9 planets in our solar system or the ability to answer useless questions such as what is the square root of 40 divided by 60 million to the power of 3.

….Save these topics for the students that show interest as opposed to the millions of students who do not.

This book is a book about serious life skills. Something that will be used everyday. Something useful.

This is a book in which I can say that, with complete and total confidence, will  improve the social and business aspects of your life, which will further improve your overall happiness as it has improved mine.

The only downside to Carnegie’s book is that it has become a bit outdated in regards to the examples Carnegie displays. Being a modern man from the 21st century some of the famous political characters, actors and musicians he refers to are unknown/foreign to me. However, the examples he uses are still easily understandable and remain rock solid in regards to portraying his ideas and points of view that still remain extremely relevant in a 21st century context.

This book will improve your relationships with your friends, your mother, your father, doctors, scientists and strangers. Anyone you will happen to meet. I swear by that. So if you would like to see your friends smile more, increase your ability to create business deals, influence others to your way of thinking and of course make friends more quickly and easily I suggest you read this book.

The book includes:

1. The three fundamental techniques in handling people.

2. The six ways to make people like you.

3. The twelve ways to win people to your way of thinking.

4. and, The nine ways to change people without arousing resentment.
